Steam Deck Modder Installs OG Xbox Emulator

Valve has never been great when it comes to hardware. However, Steam Deck changed everything. The handheld gaming console by Valve now supports over 4000 titles.

Since Steam Deck is powered by actual PC hardware, modders and users have started taking advantage of its potential to run emulators on the console. Recently, the YouTube channel Modern Vintage Gamer has shown that installing an original Xbox emulator on the Steam Deck is possible.

Furthermore, a majority of mainstream OG Xbox titles like Timesplitters, House of the Dead, Jet Set Radio, and Halo are running flawlessly on this emulator. The video shared by the aforementioned YouTube channel also showcases how to install the emulator.

As a result, if you own a Steam Deck you will also be able to enjoy Xbox games on your Steam Deck. MVT installed the tried and trusted Xemu (an original Xbox emulator) on the steam deck. Well, Xemu can be natively installed on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Additionally, it’s worth noting that around 78% of the entire OG Xbox games are playable on Xemu.

Thanks to emulation, the supported game library of Steam Deck keeps getting bigger and bigger every passing day.
